Groundhog Day and other complaints

Groundhog Day and other complaints

Hey dudes.
How are you doing? Its been a while. You know, the old "If you dont have anything nice to say.... drink lots of wine...."

So, lets, for a moment, embrace the negative. Lets celebrate the annoying, the frustrating, the bullshit. Lets say, really loud, "Hey stupid shit that keeps happening, its your turn to shine!!!" There have lots of hard, crap things happening in my universe of late that I wont go into, but instead:

Here is a list of whingy, petty, pain in the arse problems!

  • Moving carseats between cars can make me want to punch a kitten.
  • Why is it so hot! Who wants it be this hot? Make it hot at THEIR house. Not mine.
  • Why doesnt my Apple TV work? It worked 2 days ago. Does it not know that it holds ALL THE MOVIES my children want to watch???
  • Landline phone. PISSES ME OFF. I hate it when people phone me on the landline. I have to get up! And go over to it! And then I dont even know who is ringing before I say hello! DARK AGES MUCH?
  • None of my clothes fit. Even the ones I have bought recently seem to have shrunk. Being overweight SUCKS.
  • Cooking food is not fun. I do not enjoy it. I do not love it. It is not a delightful experience. Jamie Oliver can choke on a preserved lemons.
  • Every day is Groundhog Day. Same games, same movies, same mess, same fights. Where is Bill Murray? Oh thats right! That was a movie! This is  my life.
  • Technology can bite me.
  • If you are waiting for my car park, dont expect me to hurry just cos u are sitting there with your blinker on. I have twins and shopping to put in the car. That will take as long as it takes. Edging closer and closer is not going to make me go faster. It is going to make me sit in the drivers seat and check Twitter before I reverse out. Deal with it.
  • Government red tape and bureaucracy always seem to favour the OTHER guy. We never seem to get a break.
  • Why do TV stations replay the same movies within weeks of each other? They must own shitloads of films. Stop playing that Bruce Willis movie where hes the hostage negotiator and show us something else!
  • Cracked heels. You are killing me.
  • Smashed iPhone screen. Are you frickin serious?
  • Wees on the floor.
  • 4.30am wake ups.
  • NO MILK IN THE FRIDGE.

Who is running this place?? Cos I wanna speak to the manager!!!!

What are your first world problems?

Go the Distance Day!

Go the Distance Day!

We finally had some sunshine and nice weather to enjoy time outside, which was perfect as it was "Go the Distance Day".  This is a time where students, staff, and faculty are suppose to take 30 minutes out of their day to go for a walk, run, work out, or just get moving!  We all want to live a healthier life right?  We enjoyed our time over at the high school track!  We "went the distance"!

Get Your T Day Booze On

Get Your T Day Booze On

Its Thanksgiving in a few days and if youre anything like me or any of the people Ive come to know in my short time on this earth... you may need a little liquid help to quell some familial rage.
apple, cocktail, cream, soda, Bulleit, bourbonApples & Bourbon - This is a safe bet for everybody whos coming to dinner. Its like apple pie. Without the crust. Plus alcohol. Since its only got a few ingredients, this recipe would be great to set out in a punch bowl for your guests to serve themselves.

art in the age, rhubarb, hot, toddy, cranberry, ginger, tea, cocktailGinger and Rhubarb Toddy - This one is a little more involved but itd make a great after-dinner drink. At first I was opposed to warm alcoholic beverages but this one changed my mind. If you like strong drinks, this ones for you!
apple, pe, float, cocktail, ice, cream, ole, smoky, moonshine, spiced, whiskey
Boozy Apple Pie Float - A childhood favorite, all grown up. Whiskey... moonshine... and ice cream. For the kiddos, add sparking apple cider instead of the alcohol and sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar.

art in the age, cocktail, sage, cranberry, lemonade,
Sage and Cranberry Fizz - All of the drinks on this list are pretty good but Id have to say this one is my favorite. First of all, look how pretty it is! Second of all, the flavors are nice and light, exactly what you need before/after/during a heavy Thanksgiving dinner.

art in the age, snap, chinotto, cocktail, orange, gingersnap, drink
Gingersnap Cocktail - This drink tastes just like liquified gingersnap cookies. Chinotto has a bittersweet flavor, which pairs well with the sweet Gingersnap liqueur. Simple but delicious!

candy, cane, cocktail, chocolate, mint, coconut milk,
Candy Cane Cocktail - If you want something minty and sweet and cant wait until Christmas, this drink is perfect for Thanksgiving dessert.

Hope you enjoy your holiday! Remember to drink responsibly.

xo,
e.m.

Great First Day!

Great First Day!

I am going to quickly try and make a blog post while the students are at PE today for 20 minutes.  So it may be short and sweet but here are some key points:

1.  We are having a fabulous day!  The students are wonderful, polite, and have shown me that they will be fabulous 3rd graders!  I think I shocked them by starting the day with a fun activity in which they got to throw a koosh ball at the smart board, which they thought was great on the first (couldnt believe I would have them throw something at smart board).  I am getting to know each of them very well.  We also spent some time getting to our student blog pages and starting to blog.  Lots of great things happening in 3B.
T
2.  Please remember to return all papers that were sent home at Open House as soon as possible.  Remember your 3rd grade student will not get his/her iPad until he/she has an apple ID and password.
3.  Remember that your child will be taking home a folder titled "Important Papers Folder" every night and is expected to return that every morning.

And finally, I will send information home tomorrow on how to follow 3B on my blog, the students blogs, Twitter, as well as Facebook.  Stay tuned!

Thanks for a great start to the year!
